Posted by NANCY RANCOURT, at 23:22 on Tue, Aug 28th

Hi Stephanie - Glad you like the lyrics. The song should be up on iTunes any day now
apparently. And yes, I do have storyboard concept for how I foresee the video to be shot.
Thanks for your comment here at lovegirls!

video for it soon, do you have a picture in your head of how you would want the video to be
shot?

I'm going to try this one more time once, and then twice because I cannot let another moment go
by without letting you know how I feel about this marvelous interview by Pamela Detlor with the
indomitable spit-fire in your face talented red headed wonder who happens to answer to the name
of NANCY Rancourt. All too often words are left unsaid or a joke or a snipe has/is made, not
so in this instance.

Keep in mind I may look like you, laugh like you and move like
you but I am from another point in time where you were either a good girl saving or waiting to
give it up for "Marriage" or you were a bad girl living what is now called la vida loca. In my
world there were only "butch" looking, low to the ground hockey playing gals who didn't look at
guys or girls. There was no other place and women with proclavities for the same sex were
unheard of and there was no written material we could even get our hands on.

Keep in
mind Playboy Magazine's first issue with Marilyn Monroe nude on red satin sheets set the
libidos aflame of young and old men alike.

With that said, and the open honesty of
your magazine, I Salute YOU! And My Love For You Runs Deep!

Now we get to the
interview of Nancy Rancourt. As a "rain maker" or a "keeper of the flame or better yet. the
bees" I take umbrage at jokes being made about "Naked Sunday" as if Nancy was creating havoc
while she is creating. I've been doing that for years and it is any day of the week. I think it
is rather "sweet" to get off on that and even about the candy floss or spray...giggles are for
women/girls on the precipice of actually meeting themselves.

When an interviewer of
the caliber of Pamela connects with a talent such as Nancy and comments are giggles, jokes and
innuendos, how are lesbians going to be taken seriously as unqiue, proud and savvy strutting
women? You tell me...but then again, perhaps these comments are what you want for the "buzz."

I find Nancy Rancourt a major musical talent who could cross genres and sing the
great American Song Book with a hip jive worthy of any music Quincy Jones produces...and Pamela
Detlor could be writing for any major magazine.

I just had to speak out because I
wanted to love your magazine, I really did and I will continue to read you...but think about
what is happening in your world...I was not as lucky as you are.

Thank
you.

Hi Pam: Glad you love the song sample and lyrics.
It will be available on CD Baby and Itunes soon I hear.

Hi Fran: So happy you like the song! We’re thinking of
doing a video for it…lots of exciting decisions to make in the near future. Thanks again
Fran!

Lady Haig: You , my Lady Haig, you leave me so
speechless. You are such a lovely soul, and incredible writer (for all of you who may not be
aware – Lady Haig is the Author of ‘Death of a Bebop Wife’, which is a ‘must read’, I highly
recommend diving into this life changing book, which in my opinion, will save many women’s
lives, physically, and emotionally). See you in Vegas my dear Lady! I’m packed and ready.

Hi Andrea: Thanks, glad you fancy it! It should be
available at CD Baty and ITunes very soon (which I'll post on my MySpace page) Hoping to play
in London in the new year, also hoping to perform while I’m there, lol. If I did, would you
come?
_____________________

Hi Charlie: Thanks! Not in person yet, they’re busy
filming the 5th season and I’m in the studio writing and recording. Some exciting things
continue to brew for the new year.

Hi Jenn: LOL, Yes, it’s
a fragrant body spray indeed, however the scent of it does spark a sudden intimate hunger for
dancing, chocolate, and ongoing activities that influence
nudity!

Hi Kelly: Great question! ‘Coming out’ in any work
or work related environment can be incredibly stressful and people don’t always react they way
you would anticipate or hope. Sometimes the ones you thought would be supportive are complete
jerks, and the ones you thought would be jerks are the caring and supportive ones. I came out
in my career about 6 or 7 years ago. The reaction was 50/50 and the negative half nearly broke
my spirit…I took a few years off, working on less public projects, regained my strength and
came back with an attitude, lol. To those who can’t handle that I’m gay, I have two words for
them and they’re not ‘Happy Birthday’.

Hi Danni: You’re so
sweet! Um dates? I like dates. What to wear? What ‘not’ to wear! Oh
my!

Hi Charlotte: Very nice, bold, upfront, very direct.
Ok, now tell me how you really feel, lol. Ah c’mon, here’s a hint – I, Nancy Rancourt do
solemly swear that…I ‘Rely on Simple’.

Hi Stacey: Thanks!
That was one of my favorite parts to write and when I recorded it, we played it back and it
felt so good, I broke out into my butt-dance. Does it make you wanna butt-dance? Does it make
you horney? All randy and dandy? Tell you’ve watched Austin Powers and get the joke! Hey, you
know what’s really fun?! When doing the dishes, pop in this song (or any other song that
breaks into a similar beat suddenly) and when the beat comes in...grind like nasty fun against
the kitchen cupboards….it makes doing the dishers ‘funner’, lol. Oh but not if front of anyone
who would be offended (Grandma). My Grandma however would have burst out into a fit of
laughter and then hosed me down
_____________________

Hi Sarah: Alright, I’m
in!
_____________________

Hi Victoria: It’s actually a body spray…but if you’re
looking for something more tongue-oriented, with much excitement I suggest you try ‘pop-rocks’
(it’s little tiny grain candy in a bag), you rip the bag, put about a spoonful in your
mouth…and then…it’s all downhill from there…and that’s a GOOD thing, lol.

Hi Sam: Ever heard the phrase ‘never kiss and tell’? If I
did, I would never tell, lol.
Hi Shaz: Love your name! Well, I can assure you I’m not
knitting a sweater!

FIRST OF ALL, I SALUTE YOU PAMELA!

You need to know that out here in yaya land. your
interview had an elan and depth as you focused on the incomparable diva: NANCY RANCOURT beyond
the pale.

What I liked was you didn't get chick-lit-ish, witty or clever. The fact
that Nancy has a "Naked Sunday, in my world, is quite normal and women, gay or straight, need
to listen to Nancy. She is a beacon of strenght, having survived tramas and tribulations one
would not normally dare to reveal. She is the real thing and her sexual proclivities, or yours,
have nothing to do with her "savvy strut" or talent...Just In Case...you care. I find her
scope, her talent, her lyrics, her joie de vivre and education worthy of crossing the Rio
Grande wearing just boots! I wish more interviewers would be like you Pam.

The idea
of Cotton Candy Body Spray is right up my proverbial alley as a jazz parfumist. I think Nancy
has the lid on creating a scent unique unto herself and she could call it "SAVVY STRUT" the
heck with comparing apples to oranges or chocolate to cotton candy. If I can help her or you in
any way to rev it up a notch and give her the sophisticated elegant UMBRELLA she deserves, let
me know.

Good luck with the single, did you get to meet the l word girls?

Posted by jenn, at 13:35 on Wed, Aug 22nd

I googled the cotton candy thing, it's not candy floss that you spray and eat off your woman,
it's a fragrant body spray!! You all have dirty minds ;o)

Posted by kelly, at 13:32 on Wed, Aug 22nd

i think it would be cool if the people you are interviewing are gay like nancy and kat brooks
if you ask them something about coming out? if it affects their career? just something that
would interest me, not sure about your other readers.

Posted by danni, at 13:28 on Wed, Aug 22nd

down girls lol the interview is about her new single not about if you can get a date :) What
is that body spray? cotton candy as in candy floss? from a can? that you can eat?

Posted by charlotte, at 13:24 on Wed, Aug 22nd
